This year Earth Day is celebrated on April 22, 2025. Founded in 1970 as a day to raise awareness about environmental issues impacting the future of our planet, it has grown to become a global celebration!
Washington Service Corps members have supported environmental projects while serving with organizations throughout the state since 1983. Washington Service Corps invites you to join us in making a difference on Earth Day by giving the gift of time.

Make service a goal, volunteer to support your communities and neighbors, and take a small step to be the change to protect our planet. Here are some ways you can make a difference this Earth Day:
- Volunteer: Check out the Washington Service Corps website to learn more about upcoming Earth Day events hosted at Washington Service Corps sites.
- Educate: Help teach your community about the environment.
- Reduce, reuse and recycle: Make an effort to cut down on waste and find new ways to use things.
- Conserve water: Using less water reduces energy consumption, preserves water quality and helps maintain healthy ecosystems.
- Drive less: Being on the road less reduces greenhouse gas emissions and minimizes air pollution.
- Plant a tree: Trees purify the air, filter water and support wildlife.
- Shop locally: Support local farmers and businesses to reduce your carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices.
- Get outside: Take a hike, go for a walk or spend time in your local park.
