As an individual, you can complete the tasks below through eServices.
Apply for unemployment benefits
Use eServices to apply for unemployment benefits online.
Submit weekly claims
After applying for unemployment benefits, you can submit weekly claims through eServices.
Manage your unemployment benefits claim
eServices provides options to:
- Respond to questions about your claim.
- Restart your claim.
Pay a benefit overpayment
Need to repay benefits due to an overpayment? Learn how to pay back an overpayment online through eServices. You can also read more about overpayments.
Look up your past wages
eServices may have information about wages you earned at past jobs in Washington.
What you cannot do in eServices
You cannot do the following things through eServices.
Apply for Paid Leave
To apply for Paid Leave, visit the Paid Family and Medical Leave website.
Apply for Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance
To apply for disaster assistance, visit our page about the Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance program.

Creating your eServices account
Watch this video to avoid common problems and mistakes when creating an account. You'll learn:
- How to create an eServices account.
- How to work with two-step verification (also called multi-factor authentication or MFA).
How to create an eServices account
- Go to eServices and select "Create new account."
- Fill out the form to create an account and select "Register your user account."
If there is an error when registering your account, scroll to the top of the screen to read what it is. You can then try again. - We will email you a link to activate your account. Check your email and select "Activate your eServices account."
It may take a few minutes to receive the activation link. If the link is not in your inbox, check your spam or junk mail folder. - After activating your account, enter your username and password, then select "Continue."
- On the next page, select "For yourself."
- Select "Continue" under "If you're an unemployment claimant, a job seeker, or if you want to send us a message or look up past wages."
- Select "Verify my identity."
- Fill out the form to verify your identity and select "Next."
- Select "Apply for unemployment benefits or manage your current and past claims."
- Next, you will need to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA). Choose a method to receive a verification code.
Enter the last 6 digits of the code on the multi-factor authentication (MFA) page, then select "Submit."
If you want eServices to remember the device you used to enter the verification code, select the checkbox next to "Yes, remember my device." Then select "Submit."
