Why you should consider job training
Training can help you qualify for more jobs, earn more money and gain more stability in your career. Read more about why job training is important.
Getting unemployment benefits during training
We offer several training programs. If we approve you for one of our programs, you:
- Can collect unemployment benefits, as long as you remain eligible for benefits each week.
- Do not need to look for work.
Our training programs
Training Benefits
The Training Benefits program gives you additional weeks of unemployment benefits while in training. If we approve you for the program, you can extend your benefits by up to 26 weeks.
Commissioner-Approved Training
Commissioner-Approved Training is another way to get benefits during training. Unlike the training benefits program, it does not extend your benefits.
Self-Employment Assistance program (SEAP)
The Self-Employment Assistance program provides benefits while you get training to run a business.
