About eServices for employers

Employers and firms that represent employers can manage many tasks in eServices. Learn how to create an account and combine eServices with the Employer Account Management System (EAMS).

eServices and the Employer Account Management System (EAMS) can work together

Employers do not need to use eServices to file quarterly unemployment tax and wage reports or pay taxes. Most simply use a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account to access EAMS. Read this page to understand when you might need an eServices account.

About eServices

An online portal where employers can complete tasks related to unemployment benefits.

About EAMS

One service available in eServices. Primarily, employers use EAMS to pay unemployment taxes and submit quarterly tax and wage reports. When you have access to locked services in EAMS, you can use more features in both eServices and EAMS.

eServices, EAMS and locked services are all free.

What you can do in eServices with EAMS locked services

Manage your employees' unemployment claims

  • Read and reply to our messages and letters.
  • Respond to our questions about employees who were discharged or quit.
  • Appeal our decision to pay unemployment benefits to your former employees.

Better manage your tax account and quarterly wage reports

With locked services, you can:

  • Copy data from one quarter to the next.
  • Save, view and amend reports.
  • Auto-calculate excess wages.
  • View payment history.
  • Cancel pending payments.
  • View account activity.
  • Control user accounts.

Apply for the SharedWork program

The SharedWork program allows you to temporarily reduce employees' hours instead of laying them off. Employees collect benefits to replace some of their lost wages.

What you can do in eServices without EAMS locked services

Pay unemployment taxes and file quarterly wage reports

You can use EAMS to pay unemployment taxes and submit quarterly tax and wage reports. But you might want the added features of locked services.

Apply for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) saves you money on taxes when you hire certain workers. Through eServices, you can:

  • Apply for tax credits.
  • Check the status of an application.
  • Print certifications.
