Douglas County, located in central Washington, is between Wenatchee, the Colville Reservation and the banks of the Columbia River.

It is part of the Wenatchee, WA Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), comprised of Chelan and Douglas counties. It is part of the SkillSource Workforce Development Area, covering north central Washington. Payroll employment, Wenatchee Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)

  • Total nonfarm employment was 48,000 jobs in August 2025. Total employment decreased by 600 jobs from July 2025 and decreased by 2,100 jobs from August 2024.
  • Retail trade, at 6,200 jobs, decreased by 100 jobs from July 2025 and decreased by 300 jobs from August 2024.
  • Leisure and hospitality, at 7,400 jobs, decreased by 100 jobs from July 2025 and decreased by 300 jobs from August 2024.
  • Mining, logging and construction employment decreased by 200 jobs from August 2024 to August 2025 and now sits at 3,800 jobs.
