Grant County is in central Washington. The county has a large lake where it’s largest city, Moses Lake, surrounds it and takes the name.

Payroll employment

  • Nonfarm employment in Grant County was 34,300 in April 2025, a decrease of 40 jobs from April 2024 and an increase of 130 jobs from March 2025.

  • Manufacturing decreased by 50 jobs from April 2024 to April 2025, however increased by 10 jobs over the month.

  • Construction increased by 40 jobs from April 2024 to April 2025 and increased by 80 jobs over the month.

  • Trade transportation and utilities decreased by 50 jobs from April 2024 to April 2025, however increased 30 over the month.

  • Professional and business services decreased 30 jobs from April 2024 to April 2025 and decreased 120 jobs over the month.

  • Leisure and hospitality increased by 170 jobs from April 2024 to April 2025 and increased 50 jobs over the month.

  • The government sector gained 30 jobs over the year and increased by 80 jobs over the month. Over the year job gains were mostly in state government which increased by 130 jobs, while local government experienced a 130 job decrease.
