Grant County is in central Washington. The county has a large lake where it’s largest city, Moses Lake, surrounds it and takes the name.

Labor force and unemployment

  • The not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.4% during June 2025, up from 4.2% in June 2024.

  • The June 2025 labor force of 46,291 workers decreased by 2,643 from June 2024.

  • The total number of employed workers was 44,237, a decrease of 2,639 workers from June 2024 to June 2025.

Payroll employment

  • Nonfarm employment in Grant County was 35,340 in June 2025, a decrease of 360 jobs from June 2024 but an increase of 930 jobs from May 2025.

  • Manufacturing decreased by 270 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025, however added 90 jobs over the month.

  • Construction decreased by 240 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025 and increased by 480 jobs over the month.

  • Retail trade decreased by 50 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025 but added 160 jobs from May 2025.

  • Professional and business services increased 40 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025 but decreased 30 jobs over the month.

  • Health care and social assistance increased 40 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025 and increased 40 jobs over the month.

  • Leisure and hospitality decreased by 60 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025 and decreased 20 jobs over the month.

  • The government sector decreased 200 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025 but increased by 50 jobs over the month. Local government has decreased 260 jobs from June 2024 to June 2025.
