National Workforce Development Month

Every year in September, we celebrate National Workforce Development Month, which gives us an opportunity to showcase Washington’s workforce and promote the services available through ESD and WorkSource.

This is the perfect opportunity to continue our focus on making connections and becoming better stewards (stewardship: core value alert 😊) of our shared information, raising awareness of our work and how it affects the national economy.

Here’s a brief snippet from the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) on the history of National Workforce Development Month.

Workforce Development Month was created in 2005 by NAWDP to raise awareness about the importance of the workforce development field to a growing national economy.

As a highly skilled workforce development professional, you provide critical links in your community between businesses looking to hire the pool of job seekers and education, training and support resources.
