WorkSource appointment scheduler help

Read this page only if you received a letter, email or text message from us saying that you must schedule and attend an appointment with an employment specialist at WorkSource.

Contact the WorkSource office listed in your letter if you would like to discuss your appointment options or have other questions.

Carefully follow instructions in the letter. If you don’t schedule and attend the appointment, we may deny your unemployment benefits and you may have to repay some or all of the benefits you received.

If you received a letter:

1. Schedule your appointment

Visit Scheduler.esd.wa.gov to quickly self-schedule your appointment or call the WorkSource office listed in your letter. Go to WorkSourceWA.com to find current hours for each location.

You must schedule and attend an in-person, virtual online or phone appointment if you receive the letter. The only exception is if you have returned to work full time.

If you returned to work full time
You don’t need to schedule the appointment.

Instead, before the deadline, you must call or email the WorkSource office listed in your letter, email or text message. We can’t receive text messages so, please do not reply by text. When you call or email, give us your employer’s name, address, phone number and the date you started work.

If you returned to work part time
You must schedule and attend an in-person, virtual or phone appointment.

If you don’t schedule and attend your appointment by the required date
We will send you a questionnaire asking you why. You must complete the questionnaire and return it to us. Instructions will be in the questionnaire.

If we decide that you didn’t have a good reason for not scheduling and attending your appointment, we may deny your unemployment benefits or you may need to repay benefits you received.

Please note: The scheduler times out
The scheduler times out after 15 minutes of inactivity. After 10 minutes of inactivity, you’ll receive a warning on the screen.

Read step-by-step instructions for scheduling your appointment.

2. Prepare for your appointment

The meeting is important. We need your attention. Please arrange for a quiet hour, free from distractions.

During your appointment, we will discuss your resume, retraining information, referrals to in-demand jobs, and more. Be prepared to discuss job search activities you completed in the two most recent weeks you’ve searched for a job. Have at least two weeks of recent job search logs available.

To make the best use of your time with the employment specialist, create an account at WorkSourceWA.com.

Please:

  • Have your resume available if you have one.
  • Arrange for childcare, even if your appointment is online or by phone.
  • If you need an interpreter or special accommodations for your appointment, call or email the WorkSource office listed in your letter at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Frequently asked questions

How will the appointment help me?
Research shows that people who use WorkSource get back to work sooner and earn higher wages than people who don’t.

Can I reschedule my initial and follow-up appointments?
Yes  — online and by calling WorkSource. But you must tell us why you want to reschedule. We will send you a questionnaire to complete and return so we can determine if you are still eligible for unemployment benefits. If we decide you didn’t have a good reason to reschedule, we may deny your unemployment benefits or you may need to repay benefits you received.

For each appointment, you can reschedule twice. If you try to reschedule a third time, the appointment scheduler will tell you to contact your WorkSource office.

Can I get my appointment notices and reminders by text message?
Yes. In addition to the invitation letter we sent you in the mail, and any email notifications you receive from us, we can send appointment notices and reminders by SMS text message to your mobile telephone number on file. These messages include appointment confirmation details and reminders.

You can manage your phone numbers and your SMS text message preferences in the My Profile tab in your Claimant Dashboard at scheduler.esd.wa.gov. You may opt-out of receiving text notices at any time. For more information, please view our SMS Terms of Service at the bottom of this page.

We respect your privacy. For more information, please view our Privacy Policy here.

Do I really need to print my appointment confirmation or email it to myself?
No, you won’t need it at your appointment. But you might want to have it handy so that you don’t have to log back into the Scheduler to get the information.

Texts: SMS Terms of Service

For mandatory WorkSource appointments, we use ESD-WA-RESEA Short Message Service (SMS) to text periodic appointment notices and reminders to your mobile phone.

  • You can cancel the SMS text service at any time. Just text STOP to 360-634-4300. We will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS text messages from ESD-WA-RESEA. If you want to join again, just text START to 360-634-4300 or sign up at esd.wa.gov, and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
  • The text messages sent to you by ESD-WA-RESEA will always come from 360-634-4300. The messages will never ask you for personal or financial information, such as passwords, Social Security numbers, names, dates of birth, or any other personal information.
  • If you experience issues with the messaging service, get help by contacting esdgpwssteam@esd.wa.gov.
  • If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our Privacy Policy.
  • Message and data rates may apply for any messages you receive or send to us. If you have any questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.
