Frequently asked questions
How will the appointment help me?
Research shows that people who use WorkSource get back to work sooner and earn higher wages than people who don’t.
Can I reschedule my initial and follow-up appointments?
Yes — online and by calling WorkSource. But you must tell us why you want to reschedule. We will send you a questionnaire to complete and return so we can determine if you are still eligible for unemployment benefits. If we decide you didn’t have a good reason to reschedule, we may deny your unemployment benefits or you may need to repay benefits you received.
For each appointment, you can reschedule twice. If you try to reschedule a third time, the appointment scheduler will tell you to contact your WorkSource office.
Can I get my appointment notices and reminders by text message?
Yes. In addition to the invitation letter we sent you in the mail, and any email notifications you receive from us, we can send appointment notices and reminders by SMS text message to your mobile telephone number on file. These messages include appointment confirmation details and reminders.
You can manage your phone numbers and your SMS text message preferences in the My Profile tab in your Claimant Dashboard at scheduler.esd.wa.gov. You may opt-out of receiving text notices at any time. For more information, please view our SMS Terms of Service at the bottom of this page.
We respect your privacy. For more information, please view our privacy policy.
Do I really need to print my appointment confirmation or email it to myself?
No, you won’t need it at your appointment. But you might want to have it handy so that you don’t have to log back into the Scheduler to get the information.
