Members of Washington Service Corps, which is administered by the Employment Security Department, invite you to volunteer at one of our Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service events.

Each year on the third Monday in January, the nation honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by turning reflection into action.

MLK Day is not only a federal holiday — it’s a national day of service, because the most powerful way to celebrate Dr. King is by serving others. This year, we continue the tradition of the MLK Day of Service, now in its fourth decade, with renewed commitment to building stronger, more connected communities.

Across the nation, millions of Americans will volunteer to demonstrate that service is citizenship in action. Through service, we uplift those in need, strengthen our neighborhoods and inspire hope. Together, we move closer to realizing Dr. King’s vision of the beloved community — a society based on justice, equality and compassion. Let us honor Dr. King not only with words, but with deeds that bring lasting change.

Pledge to make a difference this MLK Day! Join us to build a beloved community through unity, service and transformation. Find a list of upcoming MLK Day service projects on the Washington Service Corps website

About the Washington Service Corps

The Washington State Legislature created Washington Service Corps (WSC) in 1983 to promote community service and support employment in Washington. The WSC runs the largest AmeriCorps program in the state. Every year, we support hundreds of AmeriCorps opportunities at schools, nonprofits, government agencies, Tribes and community service organizations.
