Updated April 2026

Compared to December 2025, the unemployment rate increased from 5.3% to 5.7% (2,254 unemployed individuals). Employers reported 1,100 fewer jobs on payrolls (for a total of 47,200 jobs).

  • Chelan County is located in the center of Washington. Lake Chelan is a local attraction. It is more than 50 miles long and is abutted by high mountain peaks.
  • Agriculture, forestry and fishing make up the largest industry sector with an annual average employment of 7,763 jobs out of 44,962 total annual average employment in 2024.
  • Chelan County is the sixth largest producer of fruits, tree nuts and berries in the state. The county generates $261 million of revenue annually from these crops.
