Washington state’s job growth is projected to remain slow over the next eight years, according to the Employment Security Department’s annual update of industry and occupational employment projections. The projected annual job growth rate from 2024 to 2029 is 0.85% and from 2029 to 2034 is 0.84%.

A program aimed at empowering and supporting people who served in the military will soon return. The Vet Corps program partners with colleges, universities, and veteran service sites to provide peer mentoring and service projects. Members help veterans — including student veterans and military families — navigate education, employment, health care access and disability benefits. Vet Corps will begin its program year on Sept. 16.

Washington’s economy increased by an estimated 5,400 jobs (seasonally adjusted) in June 2026 while the unemployment rate remained unchanged for the third consecutive month at 5.2%.
