OLYMPIA – The U.S. Department of Labor is hosting three days of seminars in Eastern Washington next week to provide information to growers and farmworkers about agricultural labor laws and requirements.

The agricultural employer sessions will cover the H-2A foreign guest-worker program, the Migrant and Seasonal Worker Protection Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Topics include recordkeeping, wages, timekeeping, contractor registration, child labor, housing and transportation.

The farmworker forums will provide information about employment and training resources and answer questions. Community-based organizations also will be on hand to discuss farmworker support services.

The meetings will be held at local WorkSource employment centers. The sessions will run as follows:
