The Service Corps also has an opening at a WorkSource office in Pierce County for someone interested in helping job seekers hone their computer skills. This candidate must be 18 years old or older.

Washington Service Corps members commit to 10-month terms of community service, meeting educational, environmental, security and public-safety needs in communities across Washington. In return, they receive a modest living allowance and an educational scholarship. Eligible members with children also can receive help with childcare.
Volunteering and community service increase chances of finding a job afterward. A 2013 study by the Corporation for National and Community Service found that volunteers are 27 percent more likely than non-volunteers to find a job after being out of work.
The Washington Service Corps is administered by the state Employment Security Department.
