OLYMPIA – The WorkSource employment center in Belfair is relocating to a larger space and will reopen in mid-September at the North Mason County Resource Center.
“This gives us more room for job-search workshops, assistance to veterans and other vital services to put people back to work,” said Todd Dixon, the state Employment Security Department’s area director.
The satellite began serving job seekers a year ago on Mondays from an alcove in the North Mason Chamber of Commerce, but had to close temporarily in late July when the chamber moved and no longer had room.
The new location, at 23554 N.E. State Route 3, also houses the Department of Social and Health Services, the Mason County Health Department and other community agencies.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Employment Security to continue to serve the needs of our businesses and job seekers,” said Mike Kennedy, CEO of the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council. “Co-locating with other vital agencies allows us to continue providing service to our customers.”
The employment center will still be staffed every Monday when it reopens. Until then, assistance is available at the WorkSource Mason County facility in Shelton, online at www.go2worksource.com or by calling 360-427-2241.
WorkSource is a statewide partnership of Employment Security, workforce development councils, other state agencies, colleges and nonprofit organizations that work together to provide free employment and training services to job seekers and employers. WorkSource also can help employers recruit and screen for qualified workers, apply for employment tax breaks and qualify for subsidized employee training.
