Robert Haglund
Research Analyst, Washington State Employment Security Department

Robert has served as a Research Analyst in the Labor Market and Economic Analysis (LMEA) division of the Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) for more than 15 years. He has also served in several other roles in ESD including survey team manager, legislative coordinator for the LMEA division, report technical editor and website developer and publisher.

Before coming to ESD, Robert was a program evaluation consultant to The King County Division of Human Services, a Research Associate at the University of Washington Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Institute, and Research Director at the Center for Addiction Services in Seattle. Robert has an ongoing interest in applied research, policy analysis and communicating with data. He also operated private sector businesses in Washington and Alaska focused on travel and outdoor recreation.

Robert has BA and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Washington.


Ajsa Suljic
ESD Regional Economist, Washington State Employment Security Department

Ajsa Suljic has been with Employment Security Department’s Labor Market and Economic Analysis Division for the past nine years.

As the regional labor economist covering Southeastern Washington, Ajsa provides labor market information and analysis to local economic planners, administrators, businesses and residents.

She also currently serves as the local labor market and economic expert on multiple organizations.

Previously, Ajsa worked for Idaho Department of Labor and Idaho Neurological Institute. She is a Boise State University graduate.

  


Anneliese Vance-Sherman
ESD Regional Economist, Washington State Employment Security Department

Anneliese has served as a regional labor economist for the Employment Security Department since February 2010. The region she covers includes Island, King, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties. Anneliese works closely with economic and workforce development partners throughout Washington State, providing local labor market intelligence to help inform strategic decision-making.

In addition to her work with the state, Anneliese serves on several boards and advisory groups including the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Conference (PNREC), the Border Policy Research Institute at Western Washington University and several educational programs. Prior to state service, Anneliese was a visiting fellow at the Border Policy Research Institute and instructor at the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University.

Anneliese has a Ph.D. in economic geography and a master’s degree in economics both from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
