Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Annual Performance Narrative Report
What is the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act?
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 establishes the structure and relationship between national, state and local workforce investment activities.
“The purpose of Title I and Title III is to assist individuals in accessing employment, education and training to succeed in the labor market, and to match employers with skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. The goal is for program participants to increase employment, median earnings and credential obtainment (Title I only).”
The Workforce Board (WTECB), in conjunction with the state’s Employment Security Department and Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs), compiles an annual performance report on how the funds are used to help Washington residents succeed in the labor market.
This report speaks on program descriptions, implementation, policy development and more. It also provides results for adults, dislocated workers and youth in various programs. The appendices include highlights for some of the LWDBs, and provides statewide performance reports.
