The Paid Family and Medical Leave implementation effort is a 3-year project with an $82 million budget. Under state law, this program must begin collecting premiums on Jan. 1, 2019 and start paying benefits to eligible workers on Jan. 1, 2020. This fast-paced project is an excellent place for high-performing and highly motivated individuals interested in making a difference on a state and national level. 

Join Us! IT Career Fair - Feb. 5 from 3-7 p.m.

We are hosting a career fair for IT professionals interested in working for Paid Family and Medical Leave, or for the broader Employment Security Department. Over the next few months, we will be hiring dozens of IT professionals to support agency operations and help setup our state’s new Paid Family and Medical Leave program. Whether you are just starting out, or looking to advance your IT career, these positions will help you build experience and skills necessary for both government and private sector jobs. PFML Application Developer (ITS 3): The Paid Family and Medical Leave Project Team is recruiting for multiple Application Developers, Information Technology Specialist 3 (ITS3) project positions. As an application developer, you will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications, following best practices related to agile system development and system design and technology. Paid Family and Medical Leave Operations Manager (EMS)The Paid Family and Medical Leave Project Team is recruiting for Operations Manager, an Exempt Management Service (EMS Band-3) position. We are looking for a dynamic leader that will build a team from the ground up, and help shape a better future for Washington families receiving the upcoming Paid Family and Medical Leave benefit. In this role, you will be responsible for developing processes that incorporate best practices and innovative methods of delivering services to customers that add value for customers in every interaction. This includes helping managers and staff view the experience of the customers we serve as critical to meeting agency strategy and business goals.  During the development phase of the program, this position will be responsible for designing and implementing the operations of a new business unit; including staffing, resource, retention, succession plans, and hiring; facilities and logistics; business processes; and service delivery models. Closing date: 1/31/2018

Paid Family and Medical Leave, Test Automation Architect (ITS6 2018 - 00275) Lacey: The Paid Family and Medical Leave Project Team is recruiting a Test Automation Architect, Information Technology Specialist 6 (ITS6) project position. In this role you will be designated as the highest-level authority, and technical lead, over testing automation. Your position will be responsible for development and implementation of improvements to the agency's software development lifecycle and supporting high-profile initiatives that impact significant and fundamental public services such as ensuring software in financial, policy and reporting systems align with tax code, accessibility standards and legal regulations. You will be relied on to analyze test automation and application code, database scripts and structures to determine the specific issue or issues causing a defect.
