The 10th anniversary of the Combined Fund Drive (CFD) Family & Friends Softball Fundraiser is coming up soon.
This event has become one of the most energizing traditions in Washington public service, offering collaboration, camaraderie and a healthy dose of interagency friendly competition. Representatives from multiple state agencies – not just Employment Security Department – will compete in the tournament to raise money for the state’s Combined Fund Drive.
When and where
When: Aug. 22
What time: Opening remarks at 8 a.m. First game starts at 9 a.m.
Where: Game Farm Park, 3030 R Street SE in Auburn.
Why this event matters
Beyond the fun on the field, this tournament directly supports the Combined Fund Drive’s mission of strengthening nonprofits across Washington and beyond. Last year, state employees and retirees contributed more than $5.5 million through the Combined Fund Drive, supporting more 5,000 nonprofits.
Every softball team, raffle basket and attendee helps extend that impact. In the past 10 years, this event has raised thousands of dollars for charities and nonprofits.
A day of fun!
In addition to cheering on teams from various state agencies, you can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win donated goody baskets.
Want to donate more? Bring a gift basket to the tournament and we’ll raffle it off for you! You can also donate by cash or check at the event.
Don’t forget to grab a barbecue hot dog lunch including chips, dessert and water or lemonade. All proceeds from the lunch go charity, too!
